US stocks slip at open as investors assess key jobs data – News Air Insight

Wall Street‘s main indexes slipped at the open on Tuesday after data broadly signaled a cooling U.S. economy, paving the way for more monetary policy easing by the Federal Reserve next year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 36.4 points, or 0.08%, to 48,380.17 at the open. The S&P 500 fell 16.4 points, or 0.24%, to 6,800.12, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 75.6 points, or 0.33%, to 22,981.819.
