For retail investors, tracking Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) activity can offer useful clues, as FIIs typically buy with high conviction. An analysis of the BSE universe shows 183 stocks with a market cap above Rs 2,500 crore saw increased stakes from both FIIs and retail investors in the September quarter.
However, performance since early October has been mixed, with over half delivering negative returns amid market volatility. Still, 18 stocks gained 20–75% in just over three months, and 11 of them rose more than 25% during a period when both FIIs and retail investors increased their holdings. (Data Source: ACE Equity)
