'zero' formula jibe amid Raj and Uddhav Thackeray reunion hint
In an important political move, Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray of Maharashtra are making references to a potential reunion after many years apart.
Raj left the Shiv Sena in 2005 to start his own party, marking the end of two decades of isolation.
The possibility of their reconciliation is fueled by their shared concerns about challenges to Marathi identity and culture.
Over political rivalry, both leaders have indicated the interests of the state and Marathi culture.

Raj Thackeray stresses unity for the benefit of the state. Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), has attempted to downplay their differences as “minor” and detrimental to the Marathi populace. “The disputes and fights between Uddhav and me are minor—Maharashtra is much bigger than all that.”
Raj went on to say that these differences are expensive for the Marathi people and the survival of Maharashtra. He stated that if it would benefit the state, he would set aside his ego.

Conditions
Uddhav Thackeray lays out the requirements for a possible reunion. After the split in 2022, Uddhav Thackeray, who will lead the Shiv Sena (UBT), has set some conditions for making peace with his cousin. “I’m prepared to put aside trivial disagreements… We can’t keep siding with one side… I will not welcome anyone who acts against Maharashtra’s interests. Sanjay Raut, who is in the Uddhav camp, stated that although the two leaders are willing to reconcile, Raj should not accommodate “enemies” of Maharashtra and the Shiv Sena (UBT).

Impact
The political repercussions of the potential reunion of the Thackeray cousins Maharashtra politics might be upended by the Thackeray cousins getting back together. It could serve as the foundation for a united front against the BJP in the upcoming elections for the Mumbai civic body. State BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule and CM Devendra Fadnavis have both stated that their respective parties would welcome such a reconciliation. Uddhav’s Sena’s ally, the Congress Party, had no objections to this possible reunion.

“One zero zero.
” According to Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MP Sanjay Nirupam, “two zeros” always make a zero, implying that a reunion would not benefit them in the election. “Initially, Uddhav joined Congress and relied on Muslim support. However, when he realized that nothing was working, he began to gravitate toward Raj Thackeray,” he stated. “This is not in the interest of Maharashtra but in my own personal interests. “Both alone can never challenge Mahayuti,” he continued.
