US stocks open lower on last day of quarter as government shutdown looms – News Air Insight

Wall Street‘s main indexes opened lower on Tuesday, the final day of the third quarter, as investors fretted over likely delays in the release of key economic data due to a potential U.S. government shutdown.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 33.4 points, or 0.07%, at the open to 46,282.63. The S&P 500 fell 5.0 points, or 0.08%, at the open to 6,656.19, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 10.8 points, or 0.05%, to 22,580.359.
