Inflation dropped noticeably in March, a hopeful sign for the economy. However, the average inflation rate during the first quarter of the year was 3.6%, still well above the Fed’s 2% target. Grocery prices have risen 2.4% compared to a year ago, and although gas prices have declined by 10%, they still average around $3.18 per gallon nationwide.
