NEW DELHI: A number of stocks surged as much as 5% or more in Friday’s trade as Dalal Street closed lower for the day.
Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session down 721.08 points at 81463.09.
The top gainers included Kreon Financial(up 9.97%), Integrated Capital(up 9.95%), Picturehouse Med(up 9.91%), Omax Autos(up 9.61%), Indian Energy Exchg(up 9.55%), Mirza Intnl(up 8.78%), Rajputana Investment(up 8.44%), Stallion India Fluor(up 7.92%), Bhartia Bachat(up 7.41%) and Sumeru Ind(up 7.28%) which surged over 5% in today’s trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, stocks such as Cipla(up 3.00%), SBI Life(up 2.15%), Apollo Hospital(up 1.43%), Dr. Reddys(up 0.98%) and HDFC Life(up 0.67%) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty 50 index ended 225.1 points down at 24837.0.
Among the 50 components in the Nifty index, 7 shares ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red.
