The 30-share Sensex ended 1281.68 points down at 81148.22, while the 50-share Nifty index closed 346.36 points down at 24578.35.
In the Nifty 50 index, 13 stocks ended in the green, while 37 stocks closed in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Parmeshwari Silk, Stampede Cap(DVR), NDA Securities, Suven Life Sci and Vishal Mega Mart hit their fresh 52-week high, while G V Films, Chembond Chem, Career Point, Sybly Ind and Fruition Venture touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
