The 30-share Sensex ended 880.34 points down at 79454.47, while the 50-share Nifty index closed 265.8 points down at 24008.0.
In the Nifty 50 index, 11 stocks ended in the green, while 39 stocks closed in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as ACS Technologies Ltd., Stampede Cap(DVR), Parmeshwari Silk, KPR Mill and Faze Three Ltd hit their fresh 52-week high, while Career Point, Chembond Chem, Trans Financial, G V Films and Modern Shares touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
