The 30-share Sensex ended 624.82 points down at 81551.63, while the 50-share Nifty index closed 174.96 points down at 24826.2.
In the Nifty 50 index, 11 stocks ended in the green, while 39 stocks closed in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Apollo Micro Systems, Camlin Fine Sc, Centum Elec, Venus Remedies and ASM Tech hit their fresh 52-week high, while California Soft(PP), Unimode Overseas, Key Corp Ltd, Tantia Const and Pulsar International touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
