NEW DELHI: Several stocks gained in excess of 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Sambhv Steel Tubes(up 22.26%), Gabriel India(up 19.99%), Crown Tours(up 19.98%), Alfa Ica(up 18.93%) and Universus Photo(up 15.66%) were among the stocks that surged over 15%.
The 30-share index, BSE was trading 36.11 points down at 83661.18, while the 50-share index, NSE was 24.9 points down at 25516.9.
In the Nifty50 index, 20 stocks traded in the green, while 30 stocks were in the red.
Stocks such as Gabriel India, TN Telecom, Ambar Protein Ind, Sai Life Science and Sumeet Ind hit their fresh 52-week high, while Arisinfra Solutions, Kalpataru, Sadhana Nitro, Nutricircle and Raymond Realty touched their new 52-week low during the session.
