NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 76.53 points up at 83682.99 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Purple Entertainment(down 19.54 per cent), Promax Power(down 9.87 per cent), Alkosign Ltd.(down 9.41 per cent), Sterling Green(down 9.30 per cent) and Abhishek Infraventures(down 8.76 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 28 stocks traded in the green, while 22 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 25.71 points up at 25542.75.
On the BSE, Stampede Cap(DVR), Sadhana Nitro, Prime Ind, Kansal Fibres and Pooja Entertainment & Films hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Gabriel India, Concord Drugs, TN Telecom, Kimia Biosciences and Lloyds Steels(PP)touched their fresh 52-week highs.
