NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 721.08 points down at 81463.09 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, B-Right Realestate(down 17.84 per cent), ObjectOne Information Systems(down 14.95 per cent), Eighty Jewellers(down 14.14 per cent), Jonjua Overseas(down 12.46 per cent) and Abans Enterprises (down 9.92 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 7 stocks closed in the green, while 43 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 225.1 points down at 24837.0.
On the BSE, Shalimar Paints, Akme Star Housing, Shriram EPC(PP), Ambalal Sarabhai and Jolly Plastic Industries Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Sharda Cropchem, Vimta Labs, Panth Infinity, Times Guaranty and Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
