NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 311.48 points down at 81864.97 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Sai Swami Metals and(down 18.26 per cent), Vikram Thermo(down 13.40 per cent), Ashapuri Gold Ornament(down 12.12 per cent), Aryan Shares & Stock(down 10.86 per cent) and Rudra Global Infra(down 10.18 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 18 stocks traded in the green, while 32 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 90.11 points down at 24911.05.
On the BSE, Key Corp Ltd, Tantia Const, Neeraj Paper Market, Pulsar International and New Light Apparels hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Venus Remedies, Apollo Micro Systems, TAAL Enterprises, Frontier Spring and Stampede Cap(DVR)touched their fresh 52-week highs.
