NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 172.57 points down at 81886.85 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Sai Swami Metals and(down 19.70 per cent), GCM Capital Adv.(down 18.11 per cent), Pee Cee Cosma(down 15.21 per cent), Seasons Text(down 14.27 per cent) and Omni Axs Software (down 12.10 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 21 stocks traded in the green, while 29 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 49.75 points down at 24895.7.
On the BSE, Sybly Ind, Nam Securities, Bisil Plast, Sagar Prod and Jai Balaji Inds hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Stampede Cap(DVR), Kilitch Drug, Resonance Spec, Parsharti Invst and ASM Tech touched their fresh 52-week highs.
