
The chief minister challenged Shah to win Tamil Nadu’s next assembly elections in 2026, saying he might even enlist the aid of “his aides.”
Stalin, speaking at a gathering in Tiruvallur, said he was shocked by Shah’s approach of forming coalitions with specific parties in order to win elections.
“Do you think that scaring people and making friendships with dishonest collaborators will help you win? He said, “Bring all your allies.”
Stalin’s remarks regarding parties of opposition By alliance, Stalin was referring to the recent reunion between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and DMK’s rival AIADMK.
“We are well aware of the kind of intimidation and underhanded tactics you will employ in the coming year before elections — and so are the people of this nation.”
“We are not the kind of people who yield to such pressure….no ‘Shah’ can rule here,” Stalin said.
The AIADMK had rejoined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) last week.
State rights defense
Stalin defends state rights firmly. Delimitation, the NEET exemption for TN, the three-language policy, education, and a share of central taxation are just a few of Stalin’s recent attacks on the BJP-led Union government. He has even won an appeal to the Supreme Court regarding governors’ powers. The (Amendment) Act is also being challenged in the Supreme Court by members of his party, the DMK. He went on to say that the DMK government’s legal battle and the Supreme Court’s recent landmark decision against governors’ powers have made the “power” of the DMK clear to all Indians.
