Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has decided not to come before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday to answer questions regarding anomalies in the Delhi Excise Policy case.
Kejriwal is going to ignore the agency’s summons for the sixth time with this one.
As you may remember, the ED had gone to a city court after the CM had ignored several summonses.
The Aam Aadmi Party stated in a statement that rather than continuously summoning Kejriwal, the ED had to wait for the court’s ruling.

Why is this story important?
The 6th request comes following a Delhi court’s mandate to Kejriwal to show up and make sense of his resistance with the past summons.
Kejriwal received an exemption from making a day-to-day personal appearance from the court on Saturday. The CM had stated that he would physically appear in court on March 16, the hearing’s next date.
Notably, Kejriwal’s refusal to appear before the ED increases the likelihood that he will be arrested, making him the first sitting Delhi Chief Minister.

ED summons to Kejriwal unlawful: AAP
The AAP has called the ED’s summons to its public convenor “unlawful.”
The ED states that the agency must record Kejriwal’s statements regarding the formulation of the excise policy and bribery allegations, among other topics.
