Indian benchmark indices closed in the red on Thursday, dragged down by intense selling in IT stocks. Energy and realty counters also came under pressure, adding to the weakness in the broader market. The Nifty settled at 25,807.20, down 146.65 points or 0.57%, while the BSE Sensex slipped 558.72 points, or 0.66%, to finish at 83,674.92.
