India’s benchmark indices, the Sensex and the Nifty, edged lower at the open on Wednesday, weighed down by sustained foreign investor selling and firm crude oil prices, which offset support from steady corporate earnings growth.The BSE Sensex slipped 116 points, or 0.14%, to 83,511.29 in early trade, while the Nifty 50 declined 44 points, or 0.17%, to start the day at 25,688, as cautious sentiment persisted across domestic equities.
