The Congress party has been under fire from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for rejecting the Waqf (Amendment) Act, claiming that they are doing so in order to appease Muslim fanatics.
He questioned why they are reluctant to offer half of their election tickets to Muslim candidates or to name a Muslim president.
He claimed that the party was spreading the “votebank ka virus,” and that this updated Waqf law would put an end to the poor’s looting.

“The Waqf Board cannot interfere with Adivasi land or property under the new Waqf law… Poor Muslims and Pasmanda Muslims will get their rights. This is real social justice,” PM Modi said in Haryana.
PM Modi also said in his speech that the Congress party used the Constitution to get to power. He alleged that during the Emergency, they had sacrificed its spirit to stay in power.

PM Modi also took aim at the Congress party for its treatment of BR Ambedkar, India’s Constitution architect.
He accused them of insulting Ambedkar when he was alive, defeating him twice, and attempting to erase him from memory after his death.
PM stated that whereas Ambedkar stood for equality, Congress propagated “the virus of vote-bank politics throughout the country.”

PM Modi blamed Congress’s appeasement politics for damaging Muslims and holding the rest of the society uneducated and poor.
He alleged that Congress made arbitrary amendments in the Waqf law for political benefit, which turned the Constitution on its head.
“If you care about the Muslims, why doesn’t Congress make a Muslim its party president. Muslims should receive fifty percent of the seats in the Lok Sabha election. “They would voice their opinions if they win,” he stated.

He also said that if Waqf properties had been used honestly, Muslim youths would not have to earn a living by mending bicycle punctures.
“However, these properties were only beneficial to a small number of land mafia. Lands belonging to Dalits, backward sections, and widows were being pillaged by this mafia. “After these changes to the Waqf law, the looting of the poor will stop,” he said in support of the new Waqf law.
