Viral video sparks backlash
According to police, the controversy began when a video surfaced online showing Ade and his friend urinating under a blue board marked “Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Railway Station.” The act, believed to have been done under the influence of alcohol, triggered widespread outrage on social media.
After the video went viral, several users allegedly began threatening and abusing the duo online and over phone calls.
Apology fails to stop abuse
In an attempt to calm public anger, Ade and his friend later released an apology video. However, despite their efforts, the trolling and threats reportedly intensified.
Unable to cope with the constant humiliation and online abuse, Ade allegedly took his own life, police said.
Case registered against seven persons
Following a complaint by Ade’s uncle, police have booked seven individuals under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal intimidation and abetment of suicide.Officials said an investigation is underway to trace those responsible for the online harassment that allegedly led to Ade’s death.
