Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.41% – News Air Insight

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.2 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent) and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.65 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.05 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.17 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent) and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.41 per cent down at 21434.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 243.46 points at 24853.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 769.09 points at 81721.08.


Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 ended in the green, while 2 closed in the red. Shares of Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, Tata Teleservices, IFCI and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Khaitan(India), Centum Elec, Magellanic Cloud, Indostar Cap. Fin. and Medplus Health Serv hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while California Soft(PP), Protean eGov Techno, Signpost India, Aditya Birla Retail and R K Swamy hit their fresh 52-week lows.
