Shares of Lupin Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.1 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) and Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(down 1.29 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.21 per cent down at 21071.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 265.8 points at 24008.0, while the BSE Sensex stood down 880.34 points at 79454.47.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Union Bank India and Welspun India were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Stampede Cap(DVR), KPR Mill, Commercial Syn Bags, Faze Three Ltd and Reliance Naval & Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Hindprakash Ind, Nakoda Group Of Ind, AGS Transact Tech, Gensol Engg and One Mobikwik Systems hit their fresh 52-week lows.
