Shares of Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 4.45 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 3.83 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.59 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.38 per cent) and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.27 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.06 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.22 per cent up at 21359.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 346.36 points at 24578.35, while the BSE Sensex stood down 1281.68 points at 81148.22.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Swiggy, Reliance Power and Canara Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Stampede Cap(DVR), Suven Life Sci, Vishal Mega Mart, India Glycols and Ajax Engineering hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Dharamsi Morarji, Karda Const, Career Point, Swiggy and Century Enka hit their fresh 52-week lows.
