Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent) and Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.24 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 3.02 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 1.45 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.98 per cent down at 23325.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 82.9 points at 24750.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 182.01 points at 81451.01.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, Eternal and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Lumax Auto Tech, Reliance Power, Shaily Engg Plastics, BSE and CCL Products hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Signpost India, Career Point, Navkar Builders, Borana Weaves and Capri Global hit their fresh 52-week lows.
