Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 166.66 points at 24944.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 558.04 points at 81701.2.
