ET Market Watch: Nifty & Sensex gain for second straight day; Metals, banks lead rally – News Air Insight

Hi, you’re listening to ET Market Watch. Friday ended on a positive note for Indian markets, with both Nifty and Sensex posting their second straight gain of the week.

Market Wrap:

Nifty closed at 24,894, up 58 points, Sensex at 81,207, rising 224 points.

Investors were bullish on banks, consumer, and metal stocks, while Nifty traded rangebound.

Top gainers: Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, L&T.

Top losers: Max Healthcare, Eicher Motors, Coal India, Tech Mahindra.

Sector Watch:

Nifty Metal up 1.8%, PSU Banks +1.12%, Consumer Durables +1.09%.

Auto, Realty, Healthcare ended slightly lower.

Expert Take:
Vatsal Bhuva from LKP Securities says Nifty found support near its 100-day EMA at 24,750 and is expected to trade in a mildly bullish range of 24,750–25,100.

Global Markets:

Positive cues from Asia: Nikkei +1.8%, Shanghai +0.5%.

Europe mixed: DAX +0.8%, FTSE -0.7%.

Currency & Crude:

INR steadied near 88.77/$, slightly weaker but protected by RBI interventions.

Oil rebounded slightly: WTI $60.88, Brent $64.51, though still heading for weekly losses due to OPEC+ supply concerns.

Keep an eye on Nifty 25,000 resistance and global cues.
