
The ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro’s full specifications and renders were made public by the folks at Windows Report ahead of its formal introduction, giving us a first look at these gaming smartphones.
Strong processors, eye-catching screens, and competent cameras are alluded to in the leak. Compared to earlier models, the Pro version’s appearance is more understated because it does away with the rear display.
The RGB-lit logo is still in use.
According to the leaked photos, the ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro will have a huge rear camera module and a stylish punch-hole display.
The gaming words and RGB-lit logo are still present, but the overall style is more subdued than it was previously.
While the Pro model will be offered in dark gray or black, the standard model will only be offered in gray or black.
The 8 Pro will sport a glossy look, but the ROG Phone 8 will feature a matte finish.
The gadgets will offer IP68 defense.
The rumors state that the 6.78-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display on the ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro will have an in-display fingerprint scanner, a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, and HDR10+ certification.
The gadgets will be water and dust resistant with an IP68 rating. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 from Corning will shield the screens.
There will be a 5-magnet speaker system in the handsets. A 3.5mm jack is integrated with Hi-Res Audio and Dirac Virtuo for cable connectivity.
The primary sensor will be a Sony IMX890.
A 50MP (Sony IMX890) primary, a 13MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP (3x) telephoto lens will be included in the ROG Phone 8 Pro’s configuration. It will feature a 32MP camera up front. A different lens is shown for the third camera in the renders, but the camera configuration of the basic model is unknown.
The devices will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
A Qualcomm Adreno 750 GPU and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU will power the ROG Phone 8 series.
The Pro model of the Phone 8 will have 512GB/1TB of storage and 16GB/24GB of RAM, while the vanilla model will have 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The ROG Phone 7’s 6,000mAh battery will be replaced with a 5,500mAh battery that can charge a device at 65W.
Moreover, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6/6E will be supported by both variants.
