BJP-affiliated assassins of an Udaipur tailor: Ashok Gehlot
The assassins of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli are linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stated Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress stalwart Ashok Gehlot.
Ahead of the November 25 assembly election, he charged that the BJP was attempting to incite tensions amongst different communities.
Gehlot questioned the effectiveness of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), claiming that if the Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group had taken up the investigation, the offenders would have been prosecuted.

Why is this story important?
In June 2022, Teli was beheaded in his business by accused Riyaz Attari and Muhammad Ghaus after he had posted an online support message for suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma, in response to her sacrilegious remarks against the Prophet Mohammed.
After filming the horrific incident and making a video in which they threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they were taken into custody.
The matter was moved from the Rajasthan Police to the NIA, which is under the control of the Center. In December 2022, the NIA submitted a chargesheet against 11 individuals, two of whom were citizens of Pakistan.

BJP officials saved them: Gehlot
Gehlot claimed that soon after hearing about the incident, he hurried to Udaipur. But BJP leaders opted to go to a function in Hyderabad, he said.
Gehlot said that several BJP leaders went to the police station to get the release of the alleged murderers who had been detained by the police in a different case before to the attack.
He said the BJP knew they would lose the election, so instead of talking about their laws and programs, they were making ridiculous accusations. He promised that they will face consequences.

PM Modi labels Congress as “sympathizers with terrorism.”
Speaking at a vote rally in Udaipur on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi claimed that the killing of Teli is a “huge stain on the Congress government” and that the Congress is a “terrorist sympathizer,” which is why such horrible tragedies occurred.
The Congress government, he claimed, committed the “sin” of outlawing the Kanwar Yatra and Ram Navami processions.
After the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi declared that he will form the government in the Center for the third time, accusing the Congress of appeasement.

Gehlot is provoking people in the name of religion.
Gehlot charged PM Modi on Friday of inciting people in the name of religion in response to his comment that he was a “terrorist sympathizer”.
He asked PM Modi not to foster an environment that would be harmful to the nation.
“We took the accused into custody in a matter of hours, but the NIA took over the investigation,” he stated. Given that the accused might be a member of a global conspiracy, we did not raise an objection.
He went on to say that the NIA has a responsibility to disclose the case’s advancement.
