AAP has named Raghav Chadha as their Rajya Sabha leader: Reports
MP Raghav Chadha has reportedly been named by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the party’s Rajya Sabha leader. AAP MP Sanjay Singh, who is presently incarcerated in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, will be replaced by Chandha.
The party leadership allegedly stated that Chadha will now head the party in the Upper House in Singh’s absence in a letter to Jagdeep Dhankhar, the chairperson of the Rajya Sabha.

The Rajya Sabha secretariat sources verified to PTI that the AAP had indeed sent a letter designating Chadha as its floor leader. Pramod Chandra Mody, the secretary general of the Rajya Sabha, is currently in charge of implementing it, nonetheless.

Chadha’s suspension was lifted by the Rajya Sabha on December 4, almost 115 days after the AAP MP was placed on leave due to a purported breach of privilege on August 11.
Chadha was charged with putting forth, without their permission, the names of five Rajya Sabha members for a select committee looking into the contentious Delhi services bill.

Singh detained in relation to Delhi’s liquor laws
Singh, on the other hand, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on October 4 and is presently being held in Tihar jail. He was charged by the ED with being a major conspirator in Delhi’s now-cancelled liquor policy.
The allegations of the scheme are being looked into independently by the ED and the CBI. The Enforcement Department claims that Singh was paid a bribe of Rs. 2 crore by accomplices of accused-turned-approver Dinesh Arora.

Recognize the ongoing investigation into the Delhi liquor policy scandal.
Central investigative agencies have asserted that the excise policy for 2021–22 was advantageous to the AAP. As per the regulation, liquor outlets could only be operated by private operators once the Arvind Kejriwal administration decided to exit the retail booze business.
Nevertheless, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena noted anomalies and mandated an examination of the policy. In connection with the investigation, Manish Sisodia, a former deputy chief minister of Delhi, has also been arrested.
