The domestic market witnessed sharp volatility on monthly expiry day, driven by a weakening Rupee and continued FII outflows. Caution prevailed as investors awaited clarity on a possible rate cut in the upcoming FOMC meeting and progress on the Indo-US trade deal, despite some improving signals.

Here’s how analysts read the market pulse:
Analysts said selling pressure is visible near the 26,000 level, though downside appears limited given strong domestic fundamentals, including a solid earnings outlook for H2. PSU banks and real estate stocks outperformed, supported by a strong revival in home loan demand and rising market share for PSU banks.

Tech View
Technical readings suggest the index may trade in a sideways to mildly bearish trend over the next two to four sessions, with potential retracement towards the 20-day EMA at 58300–58400. Immediate support is seen at 58300, resistance remains at 59200, while positional support lies near 58000″

Most active stocks in terms of turnover
HDFC Bank (Rs 2,487 crore), RIL (Rs 2,325 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 1,667 crore), Bharti Airtel (Rs 1,534 crore), Infosys (Rs 1,242 crore), SBI (Rs 899 crore) and TCS (Rs 856 crore) were among the most active stocks on BSE in value terms. Higher activity in a counter in value terms can help identify the counters with highest trading turnovers in the day.

Most active stocks in volume terms
Vodafone Idea (Traded shares: 56.49 crore), JP Power (Traded shares: 14.8 crore), YES Bank (Traded shares: 11.19 crore), Indiabulls Housing (Traded shares: 4.07 crore), SAIL (Traded shares: 3.78 crore), Suzlon (Traded shares: 3.66 crore) and Sagility (Traded shares: 3.23 crore) were among the most actively traded stocks in volume terms on NSE.

Shares of Aditya Birla Capital, Federal Bank, AU SFB, Hero MotoCorp, SBI, Shriram Finance and M&M Financial were among the stocks that witnessed strong buying interest from market participants.Stocks seeing selling pressure

The market sentiments were bearish. Out of the 4,330 stocks that traded on the BSE on Tuesday, 2,160 stocks witnessed declines, 2,026 saw advances, while 144 stocks remained unchanged.
