Sunil Singhania-led Abakkus strengthens exposure to building material business, invests Rs 95 cr in Ahmedabad-based Match Graphics – News Air Insight

Sunil Singhania-led private equity fund Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund has invested Rs 956 crore in Ahmedabad-based Match Graphics Private Limited in a funding round through a combination of primary allotment and secondary market purchase.

Abakkus Four2Eight is a maiden PE fund of Abakkus Asset Manager Private Limited and with this move, the latter has strengthened its exposure in the building materials business.

Match Graphics is manufacturer and supplier of printed décor paper used in laminate and panel production, With the strong capabilities in rotogravure and digital printing technology, Match Graphics is a market leader in the décor paper printing industry in India, a media release issued by Abakkus said.

The company proudly caters to the marquee customers in the laminates, particle boards and MDF boards space.

The funds raised will be utilised to accelerate Match’s expansion plans, enhance digital printing capabilities and strengthen market presence both domestically and internationally.


Commenting on the development, Ankit Aggarwal, Fund Manager of Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund, said that the fund is excited to support Match Graphics in its intent to strengthen India’s role as a manufacturing hub. Their commitment to quality and innovation in the building materials space aligns with our investment philosophy, he said.Meanwhile, Match Graphics Chairman Shrinarayan Agrawal said that the company is thrilled to have Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund as a partner. “We look forward to leveraging this partnership to drive growth and create value for our stakeholders,” he added.Abakkus Four2Eight Opportunities Fund is a scheme of India-Ahead Private Equity Trust, a SEBI registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund. The fund completed its final closing on September 30, 2024 and is now closed for subscription.
