Large institutional investors often serve as key trendsetters for individual investors, leveraging their in-depth research and analysis to identify promising investment opportunities that might otherwise be overlooked. This influence becomes particularly notable when both foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and mutual funds (MFs) simultaneously increase their stakes in the same stocks.
ET Markets’ analysis reveals that major institutional investors—both FIIs and mutual funds (MFs)—have been steadily increasing their holdings in a select set of companies. Over the last three quarters of calendar year 2025, both FIIs and MFs raised their stakes in 26 stocks, each boasting a market capitalisation of over Rs 1,000 crore. Interestingly, 10 of these stocks have delivered strong gains, rising between 10% and 110% over the past year, with one stock more than doubling investors’ wealth. This consistent buying trend suggests institutional investors remain optimistic about these companies’ growth prospects. (Data Source: ACE Equity).
