Bharti Airtel shares rise over 2% after Q2 PAT surges 89% YoY – News Air Insight

Bharti Airtel shares rose 2.3% to their day’s high of Rs 2,121.75 on the BSE on Tuesday, November 4, after the telecom major reported a sharp 89% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of FY26. The company’s Profit After Tax (PAT) rose to Rs 6,792 crore, compared to Rs 3,593 crore in the same period last year.

The PAT is attributable to the owners of the parent, according to the company’s latest exchange filing.

Revenue from operations for the quarter stood at Rs 52,145 crore, marking a 26% YoY increase from Rs 41,473 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Airtel also reported improvements in several key operational metrics. The company’s average revenue per user (ARPU) — a key profitability indicator in the telecom industry — rose to Rs 256 in Q2FY26 from Rs 233 in Q2FY25.

The overall customer base reached 624 million across 15 countries, as per the exchange filing.


Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter came in at Rs 29,919 crore, reflecting a 36% YoY increase, with an EBITDA margin of 57.4%. EBITDA after lease (EBITDAaL) stood at Rs 26,600 crore, up 42% YoY, while the EBITDAaL margin was reported at 51%.For the India business, the customer base stood at 450 million at the end of the September quarter. Domestic revenue came in at Rs 38,690 crore, up 22.6% YoY. The India segment’s EBITDA rose 34.2% YoY to Rs 23,204 crore, with a margin of 60%.
