Aviation major IndiGo slipped into a loss of Rs 2,582 crore in the September quarter as against a profit of Rs 2,176 crore in the preceding June quarter. However, when compared with the year-ago period, the airline’s loss widened from Rs 987 crore.
Revenue from operations, however, increased 9% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 18,555 crore.
The company’s EBITDAR (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation and rent) more than halved to Rs 1114 crore. The same stood at Rs 2,434 crore a year ago.
The reported loss during the quarter was mainly due to the impact on currency movement. Excluding that, IndiGo reported a net profit of Rs 104 crore.
For the quarter, the passenger ticket revenues were Rs 15,967 crore, an increase of 11.2% and ancillary revenues rose 14% YoY to Rs 2,141 crore.
