U.S. President Donald Trump has announced fresh sanctions targeting Russia’s two biggest oil companies — Lukoil and Rosneft. Together, these energy giants account for nearly five per cent of global crude oil production, roughly 5.3 million barrels per day, with exports of around 3.5 million barrels daily.
