Equity markets gained on Tuesday as investors stayed positive ahead of the US Fed decision on Wednesday. Going forward, analysts expect the market to continue its gradual up move, while tracking key trade-related developments and the Fed rate cut decision, which would play a pivotal role in shaping near-term sentiment.

STATE OF THE MARKETS

  • Tech View: The base has been consistently shifting higher, with immediate support now placed at 25,050. Furthermore, momentum indicators and oscillators on the daily charts remain firmly in buy mode, reinforcing prospects of continued short-term strength.
  • India VIX: India VIX, which is a measure of the fear in the markets, fell 1.2% to settle at 10.27 levels.

Securities in the ban period under the F&O segment include companies in which the security has crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit.

FII/DII action
Foreign portfolio investors net bought shares worth Rs 308.32 crore on Tuesday. DIIs, meanwhile, were net buyers at Rs 1519 crore.

Rupee
The rupee appreciated 8 paise to close at 88.08 against the US dollar on Tuesday, tracking US-India talks on the proposed trade agreement to iron out issues in the wake of steep Trump Tariffs.

FII Data
The position of FIIs in the futures market reduced from a net short of Rs 1.71 lakh crore on Monday to Rs 1.59 lakh crore on Tuesday.
