On the other hand, Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd.(down 3.7 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.45 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 2.38 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 2.12 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.42 per cent down at 35623.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 225.1 points at 24837.0, while the BSE Sensex stood down 721.08 points at 81463.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red. Shares of Indian Energy Exchg, Vodafone Idea, Trident Ltd, YES Bank and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Sharda Cropchem, Vimta Labs, Times Guaranty, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem and Stallion India Fluor hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shalimar Paints, Stampede Cap, Shriram EPC(PP), Vipul Ltd and Raymond Realty hit their fresh 52-week lows.
