NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Addi Industries(20.00%), Jay Bharat Marut(19.99%), Cosmo Films(19.99%), Ramco Systems(19.99%), Nahar Poly Film(19.98%), Amit Securities(19.91%) and Alicon Castalloy(16.27%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 644.64 points down at 80951.99, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 203.75 points down at 24609.7.
In the Nifty50 index, 8 stocks closed in the green, while 42 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Addi Industries, Amit Securities, TAAL Enterprises, Interarch Building and Resonance Spec hit their fresh 52-week high, while Aditya Birla Retail, R K Swamy, Dalmia Industrial Development, Key Corp Ltd and Sybly Ind touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
