Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 211.05 points to 24894.95 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Music Broadcast, Future Enterprises (DVR), Godha Cabcon & Insul, Aether Industries and Transwarr Fin, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 47 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 3 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, BEL, Bajaj Auto, Cipla, Sun Pharma and Tata Consumer were among top gainers, while IndusInd Bank, Shriram Finance, Kotak Bank, Hindalco and Eternal traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 656.41 points up at 81842.85 at 10:30AM(IST). Traders were seen piling up positions in IT Enabled Services, General, Tourism & Hospitality, Auto and Retail sectors, while selling was visible in Tea / Coffee, Textiles, Construction, Chemicals and Consumer Durables sectors.
