US stocks open lower on fresh tariff threats; Ford pulls forecast – News Air Insight

Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Tuesday, after U.S. President Donald Trump‘s latest plans for pharma tariffs further dampened investor sentiment amid subdued corporate earnings.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 218.6 points, or 0.53%, at the open to 41,000.19. The S&P 500 fell 44.5 points, or 0.79%, at the open to 5,605.87, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 221.0 points, or 1.24%, to 17,623.209 at the opening bell.
