“Unlike the Uttar Pradesh Kumbh Mela, there were no fatalities here. Remember that this is Tamil Nadu,” he continued.
DMK Confident of 7th Electoral Win
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed confidence in his party’s future, stating that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will form the government for the seventh time in the 2026 state assembly elections.
“I have faith that DMK will form the government for the seventh time, seeing the achievements and schemes which we have implemented so far,” he said.
Economic Contribution: Tamil Nadu Leads in Electronics Imports
Stalin highlighted Tamil Nadu’s significant role in India’s electronics imports, claiming the state accounts for a massive 42.2% share in the sector.
He referred to his current government as the ‘Dravidian Model government – Part 1’, adding that Version 2.0 would be launched in 2026 with even greater accomplishments.
“In 2026, Version 2.0 is loading, in which more achievements would be made,” he said confidently.
Policy Change: ‘Colony’ Term to be Removed from Government Records
Responding to a request by VCK MLA Sinthanai Selvan, Stalin announced that the term “Colony” would be completely removed from all government documents.
He explained that the term has long been used in a derogatory manner against Scheduled Caste communities and represents oppression and untouchability.
“This word would be completely removed from all government documents, and efforts will be taken to remove it from public usage as well,” Stalin said.
Law Enforcement: ‘Police Day’ Announced in Tamil Nadu
Stalin also declared that September 6 will be observed as “Police Day” in Tamil Nadu, honoring the contribution of the police in maintaining law and order.
He underlined the state’s swift action against crime, stating:
“If criminal activities occur here, immediate action is taken and the accused are arrested.”
He dismissed claims of a declining law and order situation, reiterating his government’s commitment to quick justice and strong enforcement.
