Siddaramaiah denounces the road rage involving an IAF officer, saying, "Kannadigas don't attack."
IAF Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose and a local, Vikas Kumar, were involved in a recent road rage incident in Bengaluru, which Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has condemned.
Following the incident, the chief minister resorted to social media to voice his dismay at Bose’s remarks on Karnataka and its citizens.
Such conduct, he claimed, is an affront to Kannadigas’ sense of self-respect.

The pride and culture of Kannadigas are upheld by CM Siddaramaiah. CM Siddaramaiah defended the people of Karnataka in a social media post, stating that they are proud of their mother tongue and do not use violence or abuse. “The culture of the Kannada soil, which treats everyone who has come from every corner of the country and settled here with respect and loves them as if they were Kannadigas, is a testament to this. This is proven by history,” he wrote on X.

The assault video of Bose went viral. Bose had initially stated that a group of Kannada-speaking individuals had assaulted him and his wife while he was traveling to the airport. “A bike came from behind and stopped our car…the guy started abusing me in Kannada,” he said, describing the ordeal with blood on his face and neck. “We went to the police station to file a complaint, but there is no response,” he continued, “thankfully, my wife was there to take me.

Arrest
IAF officer booked
Vikas was taken into custody after his wife filed a complaint because Bose had to leave for Kolkata. However, CCTV footage of the officer attacking Vikas later surfaced, confirming that both parties were involved. Following that, Vikas filed a complaint against Bose. Based on his complaint, the Byappanahalli police charged Bose under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 304 (snatching for theft), 324 (crime of mischief), and 352 (intentional insult with an intent to provoke breach of peace).
