Mamata Banerjee demands new terms for seat-sharing and criticizes Congress
As tensions between the two members of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc heat up, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that the Congress must sever ties with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPM if it wishes to form any kind of alliance with her party. Additionally, Banerjee stated that the Congress turned down the TMC’s earlier offer of two seats and that going forward, she “won’t offer a single seat.”

There is a crisis in the opposition INDIA bloc, which was formed to unite against the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 general elections.
As per reports, seat-sharing dealings have hit a barricade in a few states.
Prior, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann reported that his party will challenge the overall decisions alone in his state.
As of late, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar left the resistance collusion and held hands with the BJP.

Banerjee assaults CPM
Banerjee hit out at the CPM and said, “The CPM has genuinely gone after me on a few events before. I was savagely whipped. The blessings of my well-wishers are the only reason I am still alive.
She continued, “I can never forgive the Left, and I can never forgive the CPM.”
She likewise affirmed that the people who support the CPM today could likewise uphold the BJP, and she will not excuse them.

Won’t give seat, until you leave organization of Left: Banerjee On the day that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra returned to Bengal after its Bihar leg, Banerjee made the remarks.
She stated, “I told Congress you don’t have a single MLA… We will give you two parliamentary seats and we will ensure your candidate wins” in reference to the seat-sharing discussions.
She went on to say, “But they want more seats, so I told them I won’t give you a seat until you leave the company of the Left.”
Obstacles remain

Seat-dividing dealings among the TMC and the Congress hit an obstacle seven days prior when Banerjee proclaimed that her party would challenge the Lok Sabha surveys freely.
The CPM has previously excused any union with the TMC.
CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury had before said, “Mamata Banerjee and the CPM won’t occur. There will be common gatherings alongside the Left and the Congress in Bengal which will battle against the BJP and the TMC.”
