At Kuno, Namibian cheetah Jwala gives birth to three cubs.
Three cubs were born at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh to Jwala, a Namibian cheetah that was relocated there.
Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav announced the information on Tuesday.
“Congratulations to all wildlife frontline warriors and wildlife lovers across the country,” the minister said in a video that she uploaded on X.
Three cubs were born to another Namibian cheetah on January 3.

Kuno currently has 7 fledglings, 13 grown-up cheetahs
The Kuno Public Park currently has seven fledglings and 13 grown-up cheetahs.
The park’s field director, Uttam Kumar Sharma, was quoted as saying, “We are happy that female cheetahs adapted well and are expanding the families,” by the Hindustan Times.
He went on to say that “Pawan, a cheetah who explored the forest the most, is the father of all seven cubs.”

“Pawan, a cheetah who investigated the woods the most, is the dad of the multitude of seven whelps,” he added.
Jwala brought forth 4 whelps last year, 1 made due
In Walk 2023, Jwala brought forth four whelps, of which only one made due.
Sharma claims that Jwala’s second litter is in good health.
“We are checking it from a good ways. Their endurance rate is higher than the past one,” he said.
“The three whelps of Jwala, who were conceived last year, couldn’t make due as she became the mother interestingly and couldn’t deal with the fledglings well,” he was cited as saying by Hindustan Times.

One of the eight cheetahs brought to Kuno from Namibia on September 17, 2022, is Project Cheetah Jwala. This came after decades of work to restore a species that was declared extinct in Namibia in 1952.
As a feature of the Undertaking Cheetah, one more 12 cheetahs were moved from South Africa on February 18, 2023.
Over the next ten years, India reportedly intends to bring in five to ten cheetahs annually with the intention of establishing a 35-cheetah viable population.

Case in SC regarding cheetah deaths The cheetah deaths that occurred last year prompted a number of petitions to the Supreme Court for its assistance.
In August 2023, SC said that it had “not a really obvious explanation to distrust” the Middle on endeavors being embraced to stop the passings of cheetahs.
However, the bench made the observation that the deaths of six of the 20 cheetahs brought into the country and three of the four cubs born in India are “not low.”
