According to a post made by the renowned Karnataka sculptor Arun Yogiraj on X, the temple will house an elaborate 51-inch sculpture.
Plans are in motion for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22 although an official announcement is anticipated.
Why is this story important?
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to inaugurate Ram Mandir shortly, there have been conjectures on the ultimate Lord Ram idol, with three different designs purportedly under consideration.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Yediyurappa, had earlier asserted that Yogiraj’s sculpture had been chosen to be placed in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.
Joshi claims that Karnataka is the home of Lord Hanuman.
Joshi underlined once more on X that the idol of choice was from Karnataka, highlighting the connection between Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram.
Hindu mythology states that the birthplace of Lord Hanuman is modern-day Karnataka.
Here is yet another illustration of the unbreakable bond between Hanuman and Rama. He stated in Kannada, “There is no denying that this is a significant service to Ram Lalla from Karnataka, the home of Hanuman.
Selection of Yogiraj’s statue among three
At their meeting on Friday, the members of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra (SRJBTK) cast their votes to choose one of the three sculptures that were being considered for the final Ram Lalla idol.
The trust has not yet released a formal statement.
Yogiraj’s wife, meanwhile, was thrilled and said, “He works ten hours a day. He has put in endless hours of work on national-level projects. Error is not tolerated.”
All the information we have on the opening of Ram Mandir
Another SRJBTK member, Kameshwar Chaupal, announced that the Ram Temple would begin rites before three idols on January 14 in advance of pran pratishta (consecration).
On January 22, Ayodhya will witness the opening of Ram Mandir, which is being organized by the trust.
Approximately 8,000 people are anticipated to attend, including notable figures and politicians like Gautam Adani, Virat Kohli, Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani, and Sachin Tendulkar.
Other pieces by Yogiraj are displayed at India Gate and Kedarnath.
Yogiraj is a highly sought-after sculptor in India, deriving from a five-generation family of sculptors in Mysuru.
After working in the corporate world for a while, in 2008, he returned to sculpture out of passion.
His statue of Subhas Chandra Bose was erected next to the famous India Gate in New Delhi, and his Adi Shankaracharya idol was formerly housed in Kedarnath.
