People will be able to book daily flights that will offer direct connectivity between the two cities beginning on January 16.
On December 30, the inaugural flight will take off at 11:00 a.m. and land in Ayodhya at 12:20 p.m.; the return flight will take off at 12:50 p.m. and arrive in Delhi at 2:10 p.m.
Why is this story important?
The much-discussed temple complex will open to the public on January 22 after the concertation of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
In the middle of this, the airline plays a crucial part in enabling people to visit the city.
Aloke Singh, the managing director of Air India Express, commented on the matter, saying, “We are enthusiastic about Ayodhya’s anticipated growth, attracting pilgrims and travellers from near and far.”
The airline is proud to be a part of this remarkable growth story, he continued.
Airport in Ayodhya will open soon
An aerodrome licence was obtained by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on December 14, for the soon-to-be-opened Ayodhya International Airport. The airport is believed to have cost Rs. 350 crore to create.
Expressing excitement over the new route, Air India Express Managing Director Singh said, “The company is excited to commence operations from Ayodhya right after the airport opens.”
The airline’s commitment to improving connectivity between Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations throughout India is ensured, he emphasised.
The dedication of Air India Express to connectivity
On December 8, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, declared that by the end of this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would officially open the Ayodhya airport.
On December 30, he might possibly inaugurate the recently built Ayodhya railway station.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has not yet provided the Ayodhya administration with an official programme, but rumour has it that the administrative apparatus has moved quickly once top brass gave the go-ahead.
This is the route to get to Ayodhya.
Currently, Ayodhya, which is in Uttar Pradesh, is directly reachable by rail and road. Luchnow is the closest airport to the city.
Air travellers who want to visit Ayodhya also frequently use the airports at Varanasi and Gorakhpur.
It is important to remember that Ayodhya’s Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport is scheduled to open in January of the next year, perhaps with PM Modi’s inauguration during the final week of December.
There will be about 8,000 attendees at the consecration event.
The consecration event of Ram Mandir is expected to draw about 8,000 people, including well-known figures like Gautam Adani, Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and Prime Minister Modi.
The family members of the 50 kar sevaks who have sacrificed their lives during the Ram temple movement have also been invited to the event, which is being sponsored by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
