Exit polls: Congress is "confident," while the BJP calls a meeting anticipating likely outcomes.
Following the release of exit poll results for the five states’ recent assembly elections, all of the competing political parties are keeping a close eye on the outcome while confidently predicting their win.
The general secretaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will convene on Friday at the party headquarters in Delhi to discuss the likely outcomes of the election.
Exit polls indicate that the Congress is less confident in its victory in more states than it actually is.

Why is this story important?
The results of Thursday’s exit polls in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Telangana indicate that the BJP and Congress might each win two states.
According to early estimates, the Congress may hold onto power in Chhattisgarh and dethrone the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, while the BJP is expected to rule in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Because they will determine the course of the next Lok Sabha elections next year, the outcomes of these polls become much more significant.

Reactions to the Madhya Pradesh exit polls were mixed.
Uma Bharti, a member of the BJP, questioned the validity of exit polls, calling them “two sides of the same coin.”
She did, however, express her party’s desire to hold onto Madhya Pradesh and praised the current chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
In response to differing exit poll results, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh declared with confidence that the people of Madhya Pradesh are “fed up with CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan” and that the Congress will win over 130 seats.

Leaders in Chhattisgarh are optimistic about their party’ performance.
With almost “80% seats” won in Telangana, Chhattisgarh Congress president Deepak Baij is sure that his party will “form governments in four states.”
BJP MP Saroj Pandey claimed that exit polls demonstrated “people have shown their trust in PM Modi,” while BJP leader and former chief minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh, forecasted a resounding victory for the party with roughly 55–56 seats.
Congressman and current chief minister Bhupesh Baghel declared that they would go toward securing 75 seats in the 90-member legislature.

The leader of Telangana Congress applauds the findings of the exit poll
Calling the exit poll findings the “victory of the people of a Telangana,” Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy predicted that his party will win over 80 of the 119 seats available.
He emphasized that four crore people were running against the BRS in this election, not only the Congress against them.
Robert Vadra, however, expressed doubts about exit polls, stating that he thinks the “real result” on December 3 will be in the Congress’ favor.
