Ghaziabad: Police on Wednesday arrested two accused for the murder of a private school teacher, who was killed by his in-laws following a dispute with his wife on Monday night, officials said.

The victim identified as Nitin Kumar Jayant, a resident of Gitanjali Vihar in Loni, had been called for a meeting by his in-laws, who allegedly killed him as part of a conspiracy.
The couple had a dispute over cooking two days before the incident, after which the woman went to her parents’ home. “The accused were identified as the woman’s father, 48-year-old and her uncle, 40-year-old. Teams are trying to find the other accused,” Atul Kumar Singh, ACP of Shalimar Garden circle, told HT.
The woman is currently eight months pregnant, police said, adding that an FIR was lodged at Tila Morh police station.
“The accused told police they felt humiliated due to their interfaith marriage. Her husband also used to beat her up after drinking. Engraged over the incident, the father and his three brothers decided to avenge this,” police said in an official statement released on Wednesday.
On the evening of March 30, the accused asked Jayant and his brother Amit Kumar to meet them near the Banthla railway crossing and took them in a Santro car towards the Bhanheda culvert.
Officials said four other unidentified men came in another car and attacked Jayant and his brother. While his brother escaped, Jayant suffered severe injuries due to strangulation.
Jayant was rushed to a nearby hospital and referred to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where he was declared dead late Monday night.
