Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 191.2 points to 24875.1 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Music Broadcast, Godha Cabcon & Insul, Transwarr Fin, N K Industries and Shah Alloys, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 45 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 5 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, BEL, Cipla, Bajaj Finance, Sun Pharma and Bajaj Auto were among top gainers, while IndusInd Bank, Shriram Finance, Kotak Bank, Hindalco and Adani Ports SEZ traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 625.19 points up at 81811.63 at 11:28AM(IST). Traders were seen piling up positions in IT Enabled Services, General, Tourism & Hospitality, Auto and Retail sectors, while selling was visible in Tea / Coffee, Textiles, Construction, Paper and Chemicals sectors.
